Our Meat Journey: How We Got Into the Meat and Ag Industry

From one project to a full plate of ranchers, processors, and producers, our journey into the meat and agriculture industry has been nothing short of incredible — and a little unexpected!

Our History

It all started with our longtime client, Tizer Meats, who signed on with us during COVID. They trusted us to help strengthen their brand and online presence at a time when the world (and the meat industry) was shifting fast. From professional photos to a new website and email strategy, we dug in. We still work closely with Tizer today!

That connection opened new doors. Our founder, Onawa, was invited to speak at the Montana Meat Processors Association convention about marketing. That experience introduced us to a tight-knit network of processors, ranchers, and ag professionals committed to quality and community. Shortly after the conference, we officially signed the Association itself as a client and began working with a growing number of businesses involved in the organization.

From there, it snowballed… or meatballed, if you will.

Our Growing Meat Network

Ranch House Meats

As our first client through the Association connection, Ranch House helped us solidify our place in the meat industry. We built a strong website, ran digital ads, and wrote high-converting email campaigns that kept customers coming back.

Nicole Wines Livestock

One of Onawa’s earliest ag clients, Nicole Wines Livestock in Livingston, Montana, needed a fresh site and brand presence that honored their legacy while preparing them for growth.

Avalanche Ranch Wagyu

Working with Avalanche Ranch meant helping bring premium Wagyu beef to a larger audience. We focused on digital strategy and compelling e-commerce content to match their incredible product.

Old Salt Co-op

Old Salt is more than a brand, it’s a movement. We partnered on a new website, ad strategy, and social content to support their mission-driven approach to local meat.

Producer Partnership

We had the wonderful opportunity to work with Producer Partnership, a nonprofit reshaping how local meat reaches hungry communities through cull animal donations. We helped Producer Partnership launch their site, build out social content, and run marketing emails to build awareness and drive donations.

Hines Meat Co.

After meeting Jake and his team in Oregon through the Northwest Meat Processors Association, we partnered with Hines to launch an e-commerce website, build marketing emails, and establish a strong social media presence that reflected their quality and character.

Red Plains Grand Butchery

This one was start-to-finish: we helped name Red Plains, designed the brand, developed the website, wrote all the messaging, created the product packaging, and even launched a subscription box called the Outlaw Club. Check out our other blog post to see the full brand in action.

Roadrunner Treats

Roadrunner Treats, a line of single-ingredient, air-dried dog treats from Oklahoma farms, was a blast to work on. We ran ads, created social content, launched marketing emails, and rolled out a new website to boost sales and make happy pets!

Makana Wild, 'Ohi 'Ohi & Yellowstone River Ranch

Today, our work continues with exciting new clients like Makana Wild and 'Ohi 'Ohi in Hawaii, and Yellowstone River Ranch in Glendive, Montana. Each brand has its own voice, goals, and story, and we’re here to help bring them to life.

Our Experience

From local butcher shops to large-scale operations, from premium Wagyu ranches to game processors and even dog treats, we’ve built real, hands-on experience across the meat and ag industry.

Our own brand has grown right alongside these businesses. Over time, we've leaned more into the needs of butchers, meat processors, ranchers, and producers because we can see how much passion and effort they bring to the table.

It’s been an unexpected journey, but one we’re incredibly grateful for. What began as a single project has evolved into a true passion for supporting the people behind the meat. Along the way, we’ve learned a lot and developed a deep respect for ag folks, who work hard and care deeply about their communities.

We understand the demands faced every day in this industry. Running a ranch, a processing facility, or a specialty meat company leaves little time for figuring out marketing strategy. Time is money, and that’s where we come in.
